Big Sur Elopement

Helena & Kevin had always wanted to see Big Sur along the coast of California and when they got engaged they knew they had to have their dream Big Sur elopement. And in May of 2022, that’s exactly what they did! We started out at their hotel and got a quick first look before we piled into our matching sporty rental cars. (For the record, we tried for a Mustang but they sold out.) We followed them down the windy 101 to the ceremony location. It had all the moody coastal vibes once the fog rolled in. The best part about a Big Sur elopement is that the location possibilities are endless! We went from a warm sunny day to being fogged in along the coast back into the sunshine within an hour!

They said their vows and made everything legal while overlooking the famous PCH. We had a nice sea breeze and it gave for some really dreamy and emotional shots with Helena’s hair blowing all over. Maybe a few goosebumps as well…

Next we headed down the PCH toward the redwoods! We stopped by the amazing Bixby bride for some bridal shots. This location speaks for itself. It’s literally right off the highway and you just can’t beat the dramatic oceanside views. As the day went on we were all getting hungry so we headed South down Hwy 101. Helena had rented them an epic glamping spot at the famous Ventana Big Sur. So we moseyed our way down to set up their intimate picnic. They decorated and then proceeded to indulge on their cake while the redwoods towered over us. There’s nothing quite like big trees to make you feel small. As the sun began to set we just couldn’t pass up squeezing in some golden hour shots among the giants.

It was a magical day in an unbeatable location. Thank you Helena & Kevin for allowing me to be a part of it!
